Department equips teachers for classrooms, other challenges

CSU's Department of Teacher Education in collaboration with the College of Arts and Letters and the College of Science offers:

  • 15 bachelor's degrees.
  • 12 master's degrees.
  •   6 specialist degrees
  • And numerous teacher certification programs.

A unit of CSU's College of Education, the department works with several other academic units to prepare students to become early childhood, middle grades and high school teachers.  All programs are approved by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission and accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education.

Faculty and courses
All of the department's full-time, tenured faculty hold terminal degrees in their disciplines, and many are nationally and internationally known.  Courses are delivered using traditional methods and modern technologies, including online, distance learning and Web-enhanced instruction. Campus courses are taught in technology-equipped classrooms.
