Program description
The English and Secondary Education B.A. program at Columbus
State University prepares individuals to become proficient
secondary educators who are responsive to the unique needs of
adolescents. Preservice teachers participate in a variety of
field experiences to develop the dispositions and performances
needed to be effective teachers of adolescents.
Career opportunities
The English and Secondary Education B.A. program leads to
certification at the fourth year level (T4 in Georgia).

for admissionn into the Teacher Education Program can be obtained in the
College of Education's
Services and Field Experiences

Certification requirements
To be eligible for recommendation by Columbus State
University for a Georgia professional teaching certificate,
students must complete a rigorous program of coursework. They
also must meet other criteria of the Georgia
Professional Standards Commission. Please contact the COE services
