Phase I (9 semester hours)

Successful completion or exemption of Praxis I

EDCI 6225:  Foundations of Education - American Education

EDCI 6226: Foundations of Education - Instructional Applications

EDCI 6227: Foundations of Education - Human Development and Learning

EDCI 6228: Foundations of Education - Special Education     

Phase II - The Graduate Program (36 semester hours)

Upon successful completion of Phase I, students will begin the Graduate Program of study in one of the following teacher education majors:

  • Middle Grades Education

    Language Arts

    Social Studies

    Mathematics

    Science

  • Secondary Education

    History

    English/Language Arts

    Mathematics

    Biology

    Chemistry

    Earth Science

  • Special Education

    Behavior Disorders

    General Curriculum

    Mental Retardation

Phase III (Certification coursework and Praxis II Exams successfully completed)

        Praxis II (Must be taken in the field or discipline consistent with the major.)

Phase IV:  The Practice of Education                                       (Hours vary)

        EDCI  6485:     Student Teaching (one semester)                10 Hours

        EDUF 6125:     Classroom Management                              2 Hours

        EDUT 6105:     Technology Infusion (InTech)                        3 Hours                              

        OR

        EDCI  6698:     Teaching Internship (two semesters)             6 Hours

        EDUF 6125:     Classroom Management                              2 Hours

        EDUT 6105:     Technology Infusion (InTech)                        3 Hours
