Department of teacher education goals, 2009-2010Teaching Goal 1: Provide high quality, standards-based instruction that prepares pre-service and in-service teachers to use appropriate standards (specialty association standards, Georgia performance standards, etc.) to meet the needs of diverse learners through the implementation and modeling of best practices.
Goal 2: Collaborate as a department and then college to develop a summer schedule that meets the needs of students and allows fair and equitable compensation for faculty who teach in the summer. Goal 3: Maintain a strong collaborative relationship with the Office of Student Advising and and Field Experiences and its advisors (e.g., to continue to keep the advisors updated on issues such as program changes, scheduling, etc.). Improve advising with the SAFE Office and other departments in the College of Letters and Sciences. Scholarship Goal 4: Promote and support scholarly activities, research and professional development of faculty and staff.
Professionalism Goal 5: Enhance existing and develop new partnerships such as those with the Partner School Network, Program Advisory Committees, Adjunct/Part-time Faculty and programs, agencies and departments at CSU. Goal 6: Enhance the visibility and awareness of Teacher Education in the community.
Goal 7: Facilitate collaboration among part-time and full-time faculty within Teacher Education programs and among part-time and full-time faculty from different Teacher Education programs.
