Mathematics and Secondary EducationProgram Description The Secondary Mathematics Education Program at Columbus State University prepares teachers with a solid mathematics and pedagogical knowledge base and provides practical experiences with diverse populations in using that knowledge. Career Opportunities Well-prepared mathematics teachers are in demand. You will be qualified to teach mathematics in grades 6-12. Although teaching mathematics is our primary interest, you should know that a strong mathematics background also paves the way to many other careers. Admission Requirements Admission into the Teacher Education Program. Applications can be obtained in the Office of COE Services & Field Experiences in Room 107, Jordan Hall or call 706-568-2191 or 706-568-2194. Certification Requirements To be eligible for recommendation by Columbus State University for a Georgia professional teaching certificate, students must complete a rigorous program of coursework.
